Loserman speaks to hate group

Sen. Zell Loserman (R-CT), John McCain's wingman, dismissed critics and spoke last night before a group led by controversial televangelist John Hagee.

“I am your brother Joseph,” Loserman said. He added, “I will tell you tonight the bond that I feel with Pastor Hagee and each and every one of you is much stronger than that(criticism) and I am proud to stand with you tonight.”

Hagee, founder of the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, has faced criticism for numerous controversial statements. One of them was his 1996 announcement to church members of a fundraiser called "a slave sale" that read, "Slavery in America is returning to Cornerstone...Make plans to come and go home with a slave." Another was when Hagee said, “Hitler and the Nazis were sent by God, to chase Jews back to the land of Israel.” Yet another was his statement in a 2006 NPR interview that said, "All hurricanes are acts of God... I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are - were recipients of the judgment of God for that." Hagee has also called the Catholic Church "The Great Whore," an "apostate church," and a "false cult system."

Clearly Sen. Loserman is showing how extreme he has become. Much of his anger, hate and bitterness began with his primary defeat to Ned Lamont in 2006. Since that defeat, Loserman has relocated to Stamford from New Haven to hole himself up in seclusion and only making public appearances on behalf of John McCain. A truly tragic American story. Now one wonders what is Loserman's current fragile mental state and just how low Loserman will fall.

Editor's note: Zell Loserman is the person formerly known as Joe Lieberman. Also it is not too late to sign the petition to remove Loserman from the Democratic Caucus LiebermanMustGo.com
