In Monday's column from Washington Post's Media Critic Howard Kurtz about Sarah Palin's disastrous interview with Katie Couric, he mentions more embarrassing footage of Palin was not released by CBS:
"And the worst may be yet to come for Palin; sources say CBS has two more responses on tape that will likely prove embarrassing. "
CBS Evening News censoring of the Palin interview was orchestrated by CBS News heads and Couric in an effort to show the McCain campaign that they should choose the struggling nightly news program for their exclusive interviews.
With the McCain campaign's public crusade against NBC and MSNBC, CBS and Couric saw an opening to shore up her last place ratings among the big three nightly news programs. Speculation had swirled for months around Couric's future as a news anchor.
This summer CBS News was caught editing an interview with John McCain to correct his wrong answers to questions posed by Couric over the basic facts of the surge. CBS News also erased McCain's comments characterizing the Iraq war as the first major conflict since 9/11, which totally ignores the Afghanistan War.
This McCain omitted interview incident from July was the first in a series of troubling signs of favoritism by Couric and the CBS Evening News towards the McCain campaign.
The Politico is reporting that one of the embarrassing Palin responses revealed is her inability to name another Supreme Court ruling aside from Roe vs Wade. Palin shockingly somehow graduated from the University of Idaho with a minor in political science!
CBS News was busted covering up McCain blunders and now refuses to air incriminating footage of Palin floundering on simple American political history questions taught to middle school students.
Where is the tape CBS? Why are they hiding it from voters? Why is CBS manipulating their coverage to hide McCain campaign mistakes?

UPDATE II: On a new video snippet, Palin, a journalism graduate, can not name one specific periodical that she purports to read.
Keith Olberman stated on his show Tuesday night that the Palin Supreme Court clip will air on CBS on their Wednesday evening news program. CBS just released text of the Supreme Court question to Palin but were dead silent on her answer.

Somehow Palin could not remember the Supreme Court case Exxon v Baker from only 4 months ago, which she then released this statement against the ruling:
"I am extremely disappointed with today's decision by the U.S. Supreme Court," Palin said. "While the decision brings some degree of closure to Alaskans suffering from 19 years of litigation and delay, the court gutted the jury's decision on punitive damages."
Palin's strength is allegedly energy policy too.
Palin's answer about agreeing with a constitutional right to privacy completely contradicts the major ruling basis in Roe v Wade.

I bet CBS invited Palin to do the interview, so they don't want to piss her off by bringing her in, then embarrassing her.

This is a new low for the travesty that has replaced journalism. There was once pride in bringing the facts to the people. Now the pride is all about getting the exclusive interview. Watch, Katie -- and a lot of other so-called journalists -- as your societal role disappears. So all a candidate has to do is throw the media watchdogs a juicy steak and they can steal the White House??

McCain steps in to save Palin's embarrassing day. This is hilarious. The GOP should be embarrassed and should ditch McCain and Palin. McCain because of the dumb choice and Palin because the Agnew factor is just too great let alone the dumb factor.

I'm not defending Palin, but isn't this last video pretty shaky evidence to use to bash her over the head with? I wholeheartedly believe she is a trainwreck but she said "since -like- 2nd grade." It was clearly a jab at Biden not a serious blunder to his age.

The blunder wasn't about not getting Biden's age. It was that she was making fun of Biden's age, when McCain, her running mate, is older than Biden.
I love how Palin is saying that Biden is the one that has a lot of experience but she's the one with the "new energy, new face, and new ideas." "Voter's will have to make a choice." Doesn't Obama fit exactly what Palin is saying about choosing the new face, new energy, and ideas?
One would hope that the moguls at CBS have a "Cronkite moment" and air everything from the interview with Sarah Palin, warts and all.
If Sarah Palin can't handle a few reasonable questions from the media, how can she be expected to handle the Vice Presidency?
CBS news doesn't have a very good track record here. Just ask 60 minutes producers about their cigarette industry debacle when the WSJ and Vanity Fair beat them to the Jeffrey Wigand news.
I was sent the two-part interview by someone who had seen it uncut. Just minutes later, Part 2 had been doctored so that the end of it was the same as the end of Part 1. When I suggested to many people that it had been changed, they thought I was paranoid. How horrible that CBS would do this!
I think that's how Dan Rather got booted.
It's too bad we have to trust the news sources to leave in "relevant" info. There used to be live interviews that just got published whole, as is (er, 'as was'), but TV is more competitive now, I guess. It's a business after all: They aren't in it to bring the facts to the people; they're in it to make money.
And yeah. Sarah Palin's a twat.
Just when you think journalists in America were starting to develop a backbone. Doesn't Couric realize it's things like this that are making her and her station irrelevant?
Couric did a good light-weight interview with Palin. Palin couldn't even handle that and voters really need to see it.

It's not CBS that embarrassed Palin - only she can embarrass herself, and she did a fine job of it.

I think the Republican party is intentionally insulting the intelligence of the American people with the McCain/Palin "team." Her lack of knowledge on the multiple crisis we're facing is truly SCARY. Doesn't it worry anyone that if something were to happen to McCain, she would be president. A person that can't even name what sources she reads to stay abreast of the current issues or answer questions on them is not ready to handle those issues.
The only glimmer of hope I can think of is that Palin wanted to stay away from naming names and undue influence with regard to the media industry. That maybe she thought naming New York Times, Kiplinger's, Mother Jones and CNN were her giving public endorsements instead of her accountability to the public re her ongoing education of - wait what is she trying to do- oh yeah, tag-team lead a nation.
Ok, it's a stretch of impossible proportions. I just cringed through both of those moronic responses and hurt my brain.
Can anyone point out the true differences between the two candidates in Obama and McCain. The left is on their horse and ignoring the tragic flaws of their candidate, as is the right. Both are so eerily similar when you dig into the meat of their laughable platforms, both are laughable. The biggest differences center on the constitutional rights Obama desperately wants to strip away and his more socialistic approach to government (Where as McCain offers more of the same from the last 8 years with a dose of false maverick-hood, if you like, thrown in and perhaps a bit less religion). Both VP choices are scary as well!
Face it... both these candidate suck and both stand to pound one or more nails into this countries rapidly closing coffin. Another damned if you do and damned if you don't, lesser of two evil elections that less than 30% of this nation will vote in. Neither candidate will represent true american values, respect the majority middle, protect the constitution, or do even remotely what is the 'right thing' for this nation on any range of issues you choose to point to.
As for CBS and Couric... they do what sells and keeps them ahead of the curve. 3 of the 4 stations are so left leaning and biased it's ridiculous, while the 4th is far right to the point of painful obviousness. Then you have the web, littered with crappy blogs like this one who skewer the truth and twist everything to suit their needs, much the same way as the mainstream media. Personally, if we are going to systematically dismantle the constitution I propose we start with the media and their protections... they certainly no longer earn that right, in any form.
I find it hilarious that when asked what periodicals, newspapers, magazines she reads, her answer was "All of them". Damn! That's a lot of reading! She must be a serious speed reader. That or she just "can't remember" them all because she reads so much.

He has been asked for opinions and advice on a major news program every day for the last 2 weeks, since his predictions, re: that the Fed wildly printing money & lowering interest rates would have exactly this fallout.
He's also the only candidate who said he would both leave Iraq IMMEDIATELY (unlike Obama, who goes back & forth constantly) and get our troups OUT of the 700 bases across 130 countries where we seek to police the world.

It is so obvious that Katie Couric was trying her best to trip up Palin. It's the same story every presidential election. The biased media goes after the Republican candidate EVERY TIME. Couric and others do their best to make the "other" candidate look bad. You can edit and interview to make ANYBODY look bad, and that's exactly what Couric has done. Americans should wake up! Whatever happened to unbiased reporting?

Palin is a ball and chain to any candidate, and plenty of Republicans are saying the same. She's simply in over her head, and that's the kindest description.
There are actual embarrassing political moments in Europe--a lot! Especially by Italian Prime Minister, Mr. Silvio Berlusconi. In 2003, he called Martin Schulz (Euopean Parliamanet member) a Kapo, a privileged Nazi camp prisoner. In 2006, he called Italians non voting for him assholes. Just two days ago, he demolished (not on purpose though) a lectern in the White House. All of this was documented and shown on TV and Berlusconi is again and still governing Italy.
