Joe Biden got asked some questions from Orlando WFTV reporter Barbara West on Thursday that were loaded with false statements.
Biden: "Are you joking? Is this is a joke? Or is that a real question?"
Well it turns out that her husband, Wade West, is a political and media consultant for Republican politicians. The GOP talking points Barbara West used in her interview may have come directly from the McCain Palin communications team via her husband Wade.

West's media communication and fundraising skills have made him a popular consultant for Republican political candidates ranging from local elections, to more than 85 members of Congress and members of the President’s cabinet.
Both Barbara and Wade West have frequently emceed Republican fundraisers in the local Central Florida community for at least a decade.
Wade West is also a Republican donor. West donated $250 to the NATIONAL REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE. He gave $500 to Will McBride a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Florida. As well as $500 to John Mica and $1,000 to Richard Keller both GOP congressional candidates in Florida.

Obama has been promising Change. He never really said what he is going to change America too. Wealth transfers, higher taxes, very deep cuts in our military spending are on the way along with a lot of regulation.
That interview was purely a scam. Talk to any socialist group in America, and they will say that Obama is far from socialism. The interviewer used slippery slope tactics by presenting such an extreme situation that is far from Obama's position. It's like saying, "If Obama supports a taxpayer bailout, he supports taking all the money from middle class individuals and giving it to the elite." Anyone can ask any question they want -- it's up to the person being questioned to give an answer. To claim that Mrs. West asked "false questions" makes no sense at all. Biden had every opportunity to clear it all up, but, alas, he couldn't and ultimately didn't.

There have been plenty of hard questions asked of both campaigns, since the very beginning. One outlet going "soft" on one candidate does not mean all outlets are soft on all candidates.

The only thing I don't agree with Biden about is the taxes. Yes, it would be good to give the middle class a tax cut. Goodness, for everyone if it were realistic. However, most definitions of Socialism include financial equality. Let's have a look now compared to 8 years ago and see what percentage of America actually owns the cash. It has become even more skewed. The end result of a Free Market system (without government regulation) is one Company, all the cash. Cash buys political signs and tv ads. So one Company, all the power.
A system between these extremes should be the goal. Sure, health care and education for all, but still more success financially for the those who seek it, which in turn drives discovery and growth from a population that is now smarter and healthier. When you place health (mental and physical) into the free market system, you end up maximizing profits, not benefit. Selling shoes, hamburgers, software, cars, homes, or otherwise blue widgets would still remain in a "survival of the fittest" system to promote innovation and efficiency.
I believe in freedom of speech. I also believe that TV journalists are there to report the news not create it. We will not be watching WFTV any longer. I believe I have just seen the fanatical supporters of Bush that are willing to sacrifice any and all integrity to win.

I think she was inadvertently a wonderful straight-man for Biden. She brought up very stupid points and Biden answered them perfectly, especially when he asked if she was serious. This showed the listeners just how ridiculous the questions were and gave Biden an opportunity to explain what Obama's position really was on each point vs the Republicans spin on it.

Barbara West is a sham. If you recall she interviewed Obama in Polk County right around the time drilling off of FL was a hot topic and when McCain was calling Obama a celebrity. Mrs. West teased her story by saying that Obama was having closed door interviews with local businessmen away from his normal celebrity positions. She just happened to be in the 'closed' door interviews with a camera crew. She brought up the drilling off of FL. She showed him a map and was CONFUSED about why America was not drilling in the areas off of FL gulf coast. Obama then told her that he would rather the Oil companies use the land they have leased first. Not happy with that she insisted that Obama say that ALL coasts should be made available to drill. She later on had a 'One-on-One' with Senator Obama, and again asked the republican talking points. I'm kind of saddened by the comments I'm reading. The remarks thus far have shown a complete lack of understanding when it comes to journalistic integrity on the most basic level. The questions posed displayed an obvious bias to the right political mindset. When conducting an interview the questions should be phrased in such a way that no one should have a clue as to what your political ideology might be. I agree that questions should be "straight forward" but the way they were phrased in this interview skewed any possibility of getting real answers or to be taken seriously, which is why (to me) the interview comes across as punditry and commentary more than an actual interview. Mrs. Barbara West missed an opportunity to question him and reveal actual problems with some substance in regards to the "left" political mindset. Instead she came out looking amateurish and a little foolish. Oh, and for the record (before someone comes along to rip me and my opinions to shreds) I don't really care for either candidate. I'm a news anchor in another market in the Northeast. This grabbed my attention - Both Barbara and Wade West have frequently emceed Republican fundraisers in the local Central Florida community for at least a decade - If so, her company should have fired her for her political activities. Most local market TV stations don't let their anchor play a part in politics. Her husband? Certainly, and that's fine, but if she's out shilling for a party, that makes it unethical for her to conduct an interview like the one she did with Biden, and any journalist who's been practicing for more than one year would tell you so. What she did WAS unprofessional and biased, and I've watched both interviews. What's more embarassing is how the station defended her actions, calling what she did tough questioning. This is a sad commentary and local news, where you can's sneeze without hitting a republican/conservative owner unafraid of messing with editorial content. They all think they're Roger Ailes.

I didn’t hear real questions; I heard questions loaded with accusations with a hard right spin to them. First off, Joe Biden answered the questions well. She just didn't like the answers because it didn't give her the ability to start dirt. There was nothing tough about them.
As far as Joe the plumber, if anyone watched that interview, Barak answered him directly and honestly as far as his policies goes. I knew his policies, most people know his policies, again the only ones who don't are the ones who dont get the answers they want to hear to start the dirt. Joe the plumber actually turned out to not be what he presented himself to be (kind of like McCain). I have a small business and I know business deductions and trust me..Joe the plumber would have fared better under Obama's plan. He may have thought he would gross $250K but after overhead he would have netted about $135K or less. You can count on a minimum of 50% of your business going to overhead. As far as the democratic controlled congress....if it was that easy ... then the Republicans couldn't have stopped the huge bailout to get more stupid goodies added into it (like wooden arrows). I couldn't care less who Barbara West is married to. What is important is how the VP candidate answered the questions. As a leader of the US he could be called upon to answer all sorts of questions - good, bad, leading, etc. Is he and his party going to cut off everyone, potentially even foreign leaders, when they ask questions or make comments they don't like? Part of being a good leader is the ability to rise above the fray and convince others of the correctness of your position - not to have a VP version of a hissy fit. We have two candidates for P and two for VP. It is incredibly sad that these four folks are the best we can do. I'm not an undecided voter. I've decided I don't like any of them. The third party candidates are only marginally worse. Can I vote "none of the above?"
